Malaga

Sunday 3rd December

Although I kept waking up I did not want to get up. I finally struggled out of bed at 11.00. As I made my way to the Lido for breakfast I knew I was struggling and it would be better to stay on the ship. Even the walk out to the port area looked too long for me, let alone the bother of getting on a shuttle bus and then wandering around the city. What I would want to do in Malaga is return to Castillo de Gibralfaro but that is too great a walk. I need to leave that for a day when I have lots of energy so I can explore it all.

I sat on my balcony in the sun reading. The view was rather uninspiring but the sunshine was lovely!

At lunch time some strangers stopped me and told me how much they had enjoyed the kicks in the Argentine Stroll (sequence dance) last night. I am always touched when people take the time to comment, and amazed that they can remember my face and pick me out the next day.

I met Catherine at afternoon tea and then we hijacked Philip and talked to him for a while. He is a man of mystery.

The early dance session was sequence. Four people from our table went along. I only had a few dances as most of them were ones that I did not know. Roy taught me a Viennese one that was quite simple.

The evening session was Party Night. I endure two songs from Synergy but the music was too loud and the bopping was too boring so I had an early night. I looked for Catherine at the jazz session but I turned up too late.

There is always lots of food at all hours on a cruise ship. I felt a trifle peckish. I could have gone up to the buffet but decided to be lazy and phone for room service. My favourite is cranberry cookies, but it is quite rare to find them. I was lucky and they sent me some freshly-baked ones.
